Overview

myhsk is a Chinese–Burmese dictionary and study trainer. It was designed from the start to work without accounts, without sign-ups and without advertising profiles. This policy explains, in plain language, what information touches our systems and what never leaves your phone.

By installing or using the app you agree to this policy. If you disagree with any part of it, please uninstall the app.

Data we collect

We do not require registration and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number inside the app. Depending on how you use myhsk, the following limited data may be processed:

  • Crash and diagnostics data. If the app crashes, standard technical reports (device model, OS version, error trace) may be collected so we can fix the problem.
  • Purchase records. If you unlock Premium, payments are handled by Google Play. We receive only a confirmation that you own the unlock — never your card details.
  • Messages you send us. If you contact us by email or Facebook, we keep your message only as long as needed to help you.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. There is nothing valuable to sell — we collect almost none.

What stays on your device

The following are stored locally in the app on your phone and are never uploaded to us:

  • Search history
  • Favourite words
  • Flashcard progress and review schedule
  • Quiz results
  • Theme, language and daily-limit settings

If you delete the app or clear its storage, this data is permanently erased from your device.

Permissions

myhsk asks only for permissions it genuinely needs:

  • Notifications (optional) — to remind you when flashcards are due. You can disable reminders in your device settings at any time.
  • Internet access — to stream word audio, load stroke-order animations and process Premium purchases. The dictionary itself works offline.

We never request access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera or files.

Third-party services

The app relies on a small number of trusted platforms:

  • Google Play Billing — processes Premium purchases under Google's own privacy terms.
  • Google Play crash reporting — may deliver technical crash reports described above.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log standard web-server requests. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Children

myhsk is suitable for learners of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since there is no account system, we have no way to store such data in the first place.

Security

All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Because study data lives on your device rather than our servers, the most common risk — a server breach leaking user records — simply cannot happen with myhsk.

Your rights

You may at any time: view and manage your local data inside the app, erase everything by clearing app storage or uninstalling, and contact us to ask what (if anything) we hold about you. If you email us, you may request deletion of that correspondence whenever you like.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes may also be announced inside the app before taking effect.
